Storeperson - Part time

Work Type: Permanent

Christchurch Casino is looking for a reliable and motivated Part-Time Storeperson to join our busy Stores & Purchasing team.

Our Stores & Purchasing department plays an important role in keeping the Casino running smoothly. The team is responsible for the procurement, storage and distribution of food and beverage products, along with consumables and supplies used across our various Casino departments. As a seven-day-a-week operation with multiple food and beverage outlets, our Stores team ensures departments have what they need, when they need it.

This is a part-time position working a minimum of 25 hours per week, generally from approximately 7:00am to 12:00pm, Thursday through to Monday, including the weekend.

Some flexibility will be required, with additional days or hours available from time to time to support busy periods and provide leave cover.

The role is hands-on and physically active. Your day will involve receiving and moving stock, replenishing supplies throughout the Casino, maintaining storage areas and supporting the wider Stores & Purchasing operation.

With regular daytime hours and a practical, hands-on workload, this role could be a great fit for someone looking for consistent part-time work who is keen to stay active, keep busy and be part of a great team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A clean full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Flexibility to work a variety of days and shifts when required
  • A good level of physical fitness, with the ability to undertake regular heavy lifting and navigate stairs
  • Basic computer skills
  • The ability to learn computer-based ordering and stock control systems
  • An understanding of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices
  • The ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness within a food and storage environment
  • The confidence and willingness to undertake Head Fire Warden responsibilities (training will be provided)
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small, hardworking team
  • Previous stores, warehousing, stock control or hospitality experience would be an advantage, but just as important is being reliable, willing to learn and ready to get stuck in.

What's in it for you?

  • 50% off meals for dine-in and takeaway
  • A freshly laundered uniform ready for you at the start of each shift
  • Free medical insurance after six months of employment
  • A fun social club and team culture
  • Discounted car parking plus plenty more great perks

If you enjoy practical, hands-on work and want to be part of a team that helps keep a large, multi-outlet operation moving every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Applicants must be 20 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in New Zealand. You must be a New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a current open work visa with at least 12 months remaining until expiry.

If you have the skills and attitude we’re looking for, please apply online with your CV and Cover Letter to Anton Thomas, Senior People & Culture Advisor.
