System Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a passionate, professional, and experienced System/Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of our organisation's IT Strategy and goals.

In this newly created role, reporting directly to the IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for building reliable cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure to monitor and ensure peak efficiency (maximising resource utilisation and minimising costs). You will be the primary contact in working with Cloud service providers to ensure smooth service delivery, meeting and exceeding SLAs for outstanding performance. 

Possessing a strong understanding of Windows server operating systems,and proven ‘hands-on’ experience (5+ years) within public and private cloud environments will be essential in achieving success in this role.

In addition to your technical expertise, you should be a proactive and detail-oriented individual, with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Experience/ Qualifications:

· 5+ years of ‘hands-on’ experience working in IT.

· Proven experience with automating manual process via PowerShell, bash, or other scripting languages. 

· Proficiency in the use of Windows and Linux operating systems.

· Knowledge of virtualisation technologies including VMware.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Excellent communication and documentation skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a team within an open plan office environment. 

· A desire to learn and upskill is essential where the candidate does not have this experience.

You would be joining a team the provides operational IT support to the business covering the Casino’s peak operating periods, so having some flexibility as to your hours of work would be preferred.

This is a licensed position within the Christchurch Casino and requires a Certificate of Approval (COA) issued by the Department of Internal Affairs. To meet the criteria, you will need to be at least 20 years of age, have a clean police record, and be a NZ.
